A double-gauze cotton towel carrying the fish motif from a Joseon *buncheong* vase, drawn in pale rose.
350mm square: open, it's a face towel; folded, a pocket handkerchief; halved over a rail, a kitchen cloth. Thin enough to dry in hours, and softer with every wash.
Hang it by the sink or keep one in your bag. It arrives in a sleeve die-cut in the shape of the original vase, so it goes straight out as a housewarming or travel gift.

- The original is an early-Joseon buncheong vase inlaid with fish, a designated Treasure. Fish never close their eyes, so Koreans read them as watchful — and because they spawn in great numbers, as plenty. It's why fish turned up on storehouses, on dishes, even on locks.
- Here they come in pairs inside a circle, and a matched pair meant harmony. A wish that one household stays whole and well-provided, repeated four times across a single cloth.
- What makes the original compelling is that it was never court ware. *Buncheong* came from provincial kilns and was made to be used. Good wishes were not reserved for important people.
- Now the same motif sits on a cloth you dry your face with. A fitting thing to give a household just starting out, or someone who's only just moved into their own place.

- Items with creases that may have been made while shipping
