- Hojakdo (호작도, "Magpie and Tiger") is one of the best-loved images in Korean folk painting. The tiger wards off evil and disaster; the magpie announces good news and good fortune.
- Each New Year in the Joseon dynasty, households pasted this painting on their gates — a wish for a year free of misfortune, kept where everyone passing by could see it.
- Look closely and the tiger is more comical than fearsome. Commoners painted corrupt officials as bumbling tigers: humor as quiet protest. That wit is part of what makes the image so Korean.
- The pine tree beside the tiger stands for integrity and endurance. Here its needles are reimagined as deep-green silk tassels.
- Bottles get opened for good occasions. This is the guardian that presides over them.

- The weight is what makes the seal. Every part except the rubber plug is cast in zinc alloy, so it feels like a tool in the hand, not a trinket. Once set in the bottle, that heft presses down on its own — no lifting, no wobble.
- You no longer have to finish the bottle. A five-tier ribbed, cone-shaped plug grips mouths from 16 to 20mm, which covers wine, whisky, spirits and even oil bottles. Pour two glasses tonight and leave the rest for tomorrow.
- This is sculpture, not print. Layered metal thickness along the sides pushes the pine and the magpie visually behind the tiger, and the magpie hangs as a charm so it sways like a bird taking off. From the front or the side, the form holds — it reads far richer in person than in photos.
- It looks best when it's off the bottle. Set the stopper on the red throne inside the package, open both doors, and you have a miniature folding screen: the Sun, Moon and Five Peaks unfolding behind it. A gift that lives on the shelf, not in a drawer.
- This wine stopper was completed after repeatedly performing dozens of 3D modifications and mold developments while actually fitting it into over 100 commercially available glass bottles. The first result, the <Joseon Royal Wine Stopper>, received both the Presidential Award and the Global Popularity Award in 2025, and the Hojakdo design follows in its footsteps.

- The metal body and the rubber plug come apart. Wash only the part that touches the drink; the metal never goes into water, so it keeps its finish for years.
- The plug is a deep roof-tile grey. Rubber and silicone stain when left in dark liquid, so the color was pitched dark from the start — staining simply doesn't show.
- Materials passed SGS testing with no heavy metals or hazardous substances detected. It sits in something you drink, so the material came first.
- The package doors are modeled on the flower-lattice gates of Geunjeongjeon Hall at Gyeongbokgung Palace. Open them and the Sun, Moon and Five Peaks — the screen that stood behind the king's throne — unfolds, with the story printed in both Korean and English on either side.
- A wooden, magnet-closing case, not disposable packaging. It holds its shape and doubles as a keepsake box. Inside, a microfiber-and-EVA seat grips the heavy stopper so the fit stays snug no matter how many times it goes back in.
