- In the royal palace of the Joseon Dynasty, five meals were served daily: Chojoban (early morning meal) eaten at dawn, Joban (morning meal) eaten around 10 a.m., Naetgeotsang (lunch table), Seokban (evening meal), and Yacham (night meal) served in the middle of the night.
- Chojoban (初早飯) refers to the first breakfast eaten by the Joseon Dynasty's noblemen, usually between 3 and 5 a.m., to satisfy their hunger after waking up. It is a light and liquid meal such as porridge or rice cake soup.

During the Joseon Dynasty, it was an important artwork placed behind the king’s throne in the main palace hall, symbolizing the king’s authority and dignity. Wherever the king sat, the Irworobongdo was always displayed behind him to reinforce his sovereignty, and it was even buried with him after death.
- The sun and moon respectively represent the king and queen, while the five peaks symbolize five sacred mountains—Geumgangsan, Myohyangsan, Jirisan, Baekdusan, and Samgaksan—that embody the kingdom over which the king rules. Elements such as pine trees, waterfalls, and rocks symbolize longevity in Korean culture.
