'WA YU JAE' is an informative souvenir select shop that selects design products with the motif of Korean traditional culture and actively delivers the stories contained in the products.


‘Wayu (臥遊)’ is a word that refers to the way ancient scholars hung up pictures of places they had been or places they wanted to go at home and took a tour in their minds.  


Ik Lee, a Joseon practical science scholar, once said this about Wayu.


“Wayu means lying down with your body but playing with your mind. The spirit is the spirituality of the heart, and there is nowhere that spirituality does not go.”


In this way, Wayu is free from the constraints of time and place because it is based on memories and imagination in the mind.


We hope that the unique products we carefully consider will resonate with each person's memories and imagination, allowing them to travel to Korea for a long time, whenever and wherever they are.

WA YU JAE began with this question. 


People form their identity by editing meaningful memories. 

We believe that souvenirs come from the desire to preserve these meaningful memories for a long time. Buying souvenirs is ultimately an important thing that creates our identity. 


Because it is such an important souvenir, we thought there was a need for an informative souvenir select shop that could convey not only its external beauty but also the story contained within it.  


WA YU JAE actively promotes the story of the brand, the process by which products are made, and the meaning of product patterns through POPs in the product display space, display screens in the center of the store, and separate cultural and product explanation sessions.
